Impahla Clothing (Impahla) makes and sells branded sportswear in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. The company commands its entire supply chain, from the knitting of fabrics for its own use, as well as for external customers, to the production of entire rugby (and other sports) team strips, including tops, shorts, socks, collars and trims.

The company is privately owned with its head office in Mowbray and its production facilities in Maitland, Elsies River and Epping, Cape Town. The company employs 418 staff.

Impahla has built up a reputation for manufacturing to the highest international standards. Its status as PUMA's first fully accredited and trusted international supplier has resulted in growing demand for its services from brands that include adidas, Asics, Merrell, Uzzi ( Truworths ) and the TFG Group, among others.

Leveraging off this reputation, Impahla is now developing its own marketing channels through exclusive sub-Saharan licences to market the BLK ( sportswear) and Linebreak (compression wear) brands.

Impahla was built on its Apparel Division and it remains the cornerstone of the business. Key customers are PUMA, adidas, Asics, UZZI and Merrell.


Fabrics are manufactured from local and international sourced yarn with an option of having a 5% organic content as well as CMIA (Cotton Made in Africa).


Branding offers embroidery, sublimation, heat transfer and screen-printing services. Materials are sourced locally and internationally and are PVC free.


Impahla Socks design and manufacture technical socks for the sports and leisure market using both natural and synthetic yarn.
