How Impahla Protects Your Data: Integrity, Privacy & Security
How Impahla keeps your personal and property information safe-secure cloud database, encryption, POPIA-aligned practices, and a clear rule: we do not sell your data.
Your trust comes first
Buying, selling, or renting a home means sharing sensitive details-contact information, addresses, and sometimes financial context. Impahla is built so that data integrity and security sit alongside speed as our top priorities. This guide explains, in plain language, how we protect your information and what we never do with it.
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or unrelated third parties. View interest on listings is used to improve Impahla for you and for agents or sellers who manage those listings-not to build marketing lists for sale. Where the platform needs infrastructure to run (secure hosting, payments, email or SMS delivery), we only work with trusted processors under agreements that limit how they may use your data. For the full legal detail, see our Privacy Policy.
Secure cloud database
Your account and listing data live in a modern, managed cloud database with industry-standard protections: encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encryption at rest, controlled access, and regular backups. We design features so the client only receives what it needs to show you-sensitive credentials and internal admin fields stay on the server.
Access control and least privilege
Every account action that changes data is checked on the server. Listing owners, agency teams, and platform admins only see what their role allows. Agents and agencies go through verification (including FFC where required) before listings can go live under their name or brand. That reduces fake or unverified professional profiles and keeps the marketplace cleaner for buyers and tenants.
Authentication you can rely on
Accounts use secure sign-in with verified contact details. We encourage strong, unique passwords and careful handling of reset links. Session security and rate limiting help reduce abuse such as credential stuffing or spam on contact forms.
Payments handled by specialised processors
When you pay for a listing or subscription, card details are handled by our payment partner’s secure checkout-not stored as raw card numbers in Impahla’s application database. That separation is intentional: payment security belongs with certified payment infrastructure.
POPIA-aligned practices
We align our practices with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA): collect what we need to run the service, keep it accurate where you can update it, and retain it only as long as required for the platform or by law. You can ask about access, correction, or deletion through our support channels as described in the Privacy Policy.
Minimal tracking, no advertising data sales
We use a light view-tracking approach so agents and sellers can see interest in their listings. We store minimal session data for that purpose-we do not sell it to advertising networks. You can clear your view-tracking session from the Privacy Policy page at any time.
Continuous improvement
Security is not a one-off checkbox. We review access patterns, keep dependencies updated, and prioritise fixes that protect users. If something looks wrong with your account, change your password and contact support promptly.
